Anderson Community School Corporation has embarked upon an ambitious program to totally upgrade the existing high school facility through a combination of replacement and renovation of existing facilities. In order to maintain the use of the facility throughout the execution of the master plan, the school corporation chose to implement the project in three phases.
Phase One included the demolition of approximately 80,000 square feet of antiquated classroom spaces, and the construction of 150,000 square feet of new classrooms, rest rooms, media center, LGI room, administrative support, science labs, and a two-story high student commons. The new areas are fully air-conditioned with individual controls and will incorporate the latest in technology.
The new classrooms are organized into four academies that have been configured to accommodate a broad range of educational models.
