Wells Quadrangle Residence Halls and Dining Facility
Wells Quadrangle is comprised of Sycamore Hall, Morrison Hall, Memorial Hall, and Goodbody Hall. CSO was commissioned to design a major renovation and addition of Goodbody Hall and a renovation of Memorial Hall. Both of the buildings were originally built as residence halls then transitioned to offices over time. The goal of the project was to convert the buildings back to residence halls and create an addition for a 200-seat dining facility. The renovation of Goodbody and Memorial Hall created accommodations for 174 students. The room configuration is comprised of a mix of 2-bedroom apartments, 2-bedrooms suites, single rooms, and double rooms. A variety of restroom configurations are available depending on the room type.
As part of the complex renovation, energy efficient modern HVAC systems are provided. State-of-the-art lighting, power, IT, and security systems provide the same environment as that found in a newly constructed residence hall. Special study and common areas are featured throughout both buildings.
The transformation of both Goodbody and Memorial Halls and the building addition has created a modern and attractive residential area in a portion of campus where it was greatly needed, and where it once flourished.
