Little Red Door Cancer Agency

Indianapolis, Indiana
CSO was commissioned to transform Little Red Door into a vibrant community center for those battling cancer. This renovation improved building accessibility, provided space for expanded client programming, and created a welcoming and comforting atmosphere.

As Indiana’s oldest cancer agency, Little Red Door helps under-served Hoosiers battling cancer. In August 2017, Little Red Door announced their New Hope Campaign – a $2.1 million project to transform and improve their building and programming. With the goal of providing clients with the most welcoming and comfortable atmosphere possible, Little Red Door retained CSO to help guide their vision and create a new dynamic, flexible space with unique interior installations that speak to the agency’s culture.

The building’s entrance was updated to enhance the aesthetics and address accessibility issues. The interior renovations include a social room with a fully equipped kitchen to enhance the agency’s nutritional cooking classes and community gatherings, a wig boutique, a consultation room for therapeutic messages, and a fitness center for complementary yoga therapy. All spaces are flexible in nature to support future offerings and programs.

Additionally, all client functions were flipped from the second floor to the first floor of the building to make areas more accessible for clientele. Office, boardroom, and conference areas were renovated and relocated to the second floor of the building and the new office space has an open concept to allow for more open office flexibility and natural lighting.
